- Matthias’ story…
- About Us
Tony and I would like to give special thanks to the committee; Margaret Kenney, Zoe Baker, Amanda McGrail and Kate Armstrong. We couldn’t have organised the event without them. These friends mean so much to us and thank you really doesn’t seem enough. The runners organised by Luke Addison and The Roteract / Peace Jam played an enormous role in ensuring the evening ran smoothly.
Thanks have to be given to Mercedes Benz World for a magnificent venue with valued support form Hayleigh Redman the Event co-ordinator. Absolute Taste provided exquisite food and YES events made Red Thi Do 2 look so hi-tech and professional with a truly emotional firework display to end the evening. George Asprey who plays Scar in London’s West End production of The Lion King was a truly magnificent host alongside his lioness Lauren Bell. They were a remarkable team, making the evening slick, smooth and fantastically fun.
Finally, we would like to say a massive thank you our Sponsors for the evening: The Cricketers Horsell, LEGO, Toni and Guy Woking and Unique Beauty. Please click here to see the enormous amount of supporters for RTD2. Our thanks go to all of you for your support.
Tony and I are astounded at the amount raised. RTD 2013 raised £44.431 so to top that by potentially £13.000 means so much to us. As the year of planning takes shape we have visions of how we would like the evening to take shape. To see the vision come true and for us to raise an enormous amount for other families going through the most horrendous time in their life is something Tony and I are incredibly proud of. But it all comes down to one person. Our Matthias.
The event itself was outstanding but we couldn’t have made it so amazing without the support network we had. It truly was a vision come true. The evening had an incredible feeling and the generosity of people reiterates just how wonderful Matthias was.
We would both like to thank Shooting Star Chase, Steven Gerrard and Anna (his pa) for allowing us to make a complete and perfect end for our brave boy. We hope that the money raised for SSC and SGF will benefit many other disadvantaged and life limited children, babies and their families and shows a little of our gratitude.
We miss Matthias so much but Red Thi Do 2 has allowed us to share a little of Matthias’ incredibly brave and inspirational character with you all whilst raising valuable funds for Shooting Star Chase and Steven Gerrard Foundation.
We love you Matthias,
Always and forever. X
