- Matthias’ story…
- About Us
Tony and I would like to give special thanks to the committee Zoe Baker, Clara Tweedie, Kate Armstrong, Charmian Colak-Antic and Helen Grant. We couldn’t have organised the event without them. These friends mean so much to us and thank you really doesn’t seem enough.
Thanks have to be given to Mercedes Benz World, in particular Deborah Hunt our event co ordinator, who made sure I remained calm at all times. Absolute Taste provided exquisite food and Yes events made the Red Thi Do look so hi-tech and professional. George Asprey who plays Scar in London’s West End production of The Lion King was a truly magnificent host and had a fantastic double act with Lauren Bell from ibid. They were a remarkable team, making the evening slick, smooth and such fun.
Finally, we would like to say a massive thank you to our team of runners lead by Luke Addison from the Roteract. We couldn’t have run the night without them, they were professional and incredibly efficient.
Tony and I are astounded at the amount raised. The evening had an incredible feeling and the generosity of people reiterates just how wonderful Matthias was.
We would both like to thank Steven Gerrard and Anna (his pa) for allowing us to make a complete and perfect end for our brave boy. We hope that the money raised for SGF will benefit many other disadvantaged children and shows a little of our gratitude. SGF have also said they would like to donate a portion of the amount raised to Shooting Star Chase, which we are thrilled about.
The event itself was outstanding but we couldn’t have made it so amazing without the support network we had. It truly was a vision come true. We miss Matthias so much but Red Thi Do has allowed us to spread just a little bit more of his inspirational and brave character around.
Always and forever. X
